Our commitment to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of our people
There are so many great things about working for Vets Now. For a start, it’s fast-paced and no two shifts are ever the same. And if you work out of hours it also gives you the chance to spend your days doing the things that fit in with your lifestyle.
But, as you might guess, out-of-hours work, and veterinary work in general, can present its challenges. That’s one of the reasons why, as an organisation, health and wellbeing is one of our key priorities.
We have a comprehensive health and wellbeing strategy and a dedicated team trained to give you support whenever you might need it.
Among their priorities is:
• Raising awareness of mental health
• Providing managers with training on issues relevant to wellbeing
• Educating out-of-hours workers on issues such as mindfulness and sleep hygiene
Our health and wellbeing team works in partnership with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, through its mental health initiative Mind Matters, and the NHS, to make sure we are doing everything we can to keep you as healthy and happy as possible.
