The Vets Now internship programme is designed for highly motivated recent Veterinary graduates who wish to expand their skills, knowledge and experience in all aspects of small animal practice.

The internship position is suitable as a foundation for those wishing to pursue specific discipline specialist training in the future, or those keen to increase their knowledge and experience for a return to general practice.

Vets Now Manchester is a state of the art facility which has specialist disciplines including Emergency and Critical Care, surgery (soft tissue and orthopaedic) and internal medicine including oncology.  We have some of the most advanced equipment in the North West of England, and indeed within the UK: C-Arm, Direct to Digital Xray and CT (up to 32 slice images).

Our Interns have the opportunity to work under the close supervision of outstanding Veterinary Specialists across our network, in the following services:

  • Emergency and critical care medicine

  • Soft tissue surgery

  • Orthopaedic surgery

  • Internal medicine

  • Diagnostic imaging

In addition, interns play an integral role in the busy out-of-hours emergency service across our sites. Teaching is an essential component of the internship, with weekly seminars and case discussion rounds.  There is also the opportunity to undertake CPD.

Vets Now are seeking candidates that are highly motivated, qualified Veterinary Surgeons with excellent communication skills and a desire to develop their skills under the best Specialists in the country.

To be considered for our small animal internship, you must be RCVS registered.

Rota pattern – Rolling rota currently consisting of 7 days ECC/Medicine days, 2 days off, 5 days Surgery, 2 days off, 7 days of ECC OOH and 5 days off. However, this rota will be adapted to suit the successful candidates and needs of the hospital.
