Be at the forefront of clinical excellence with Vets Now Reading

Vets Now have revolutionised the way emergency veterinary care is provided. Since 2001 we have grown to become the UK’s leading provider of emergency and critical care - this is down to the dedication and clinical excellence of our clinic teams. People are at the heart of what we do, that’s why we take a pioneering approach to people development.

Lead the next generation of veterinary professionals

Our Senior Veterinary Surgeons are leaders. They nurture and support emerging talent and help shape the careers of future generations. We are committed to the continuous development of our people and invest heavily in CPD, ECC certification and coaching and as a result the Reading clinic has typically acted as a springboard for progression within the company. Vets Now are committed to investing in the career progression of our people and we expect our senior vets to be ambitious in their own journey too. Whether you want to take on advanced learning with an ECC certification or participate in clinical research that will shape the veterinary profession, we will support you in your journey.

Work two weekends a month only

Working as an out-of-hours emergency vet is challenging. The caseload is unpredictable and the hours can be unsociable. Yet, Vets Now Reading have created a clinic-specific rota that combines the adrenaline rush of ECC with the flexibility of working only 12 shifts a month. Our unique rota pattern includes working one in two weekends and a fair share of weekday nights and bank holidays. You can have the best of both worlds working sole charge at times but being an integral part of a bigger team when the clinic is busier.  Reading is a modern, spacious and busy emergency clinic that thrives on a diverse private caseload – you certainly won’t be bored.

Out-of-hours doesn’t necessarily mean out-of-reach

Our supportive UK network of emergency clinics and specialty hospitals work in collaboration to ensure that we can offer the best emergency and critical care in the country. Whether it’s sharing best practice or seeking advice on a particularly complex case, you will never be alone at Vets Now.

If you are a strong lead clinician that excels as an emergency veterinary surgeon and also takes real pride in mentoring and coaching others, we want to hear from you. Please contact Anne on 01383 841181 or email anne.longmire@vets-now.com
