We have an excellent opportunity to become part of Vets Now as a receptionist in our Canterbury clinic.

Vets Now Canterbury are seeking a weekend Receptionist for maternity cover who will be a pivotal member of the team.  As a Receptionist you will be the first point of contact for our clients when they enter the clinic in an emergency situation, so it's important that you are calm, patient and caring.  This is a challenging role dealing with distressed pet owners who will be looking to you for reassurance. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy environment to a high clinical standard to ensure our clients are as welcomed as can be. You will also be required to take payments, deal with insurance paperwork and answer emergency phone calls. You may be required to assist the vet nurse in some duties such as restraining animals, medicine administration and cleaning animal areas.

Qualifications & Skills

You will be an organised receptionist, who is IT literate and a calm and confident communicator. Experience in a veterinary practice is preferred but not essential.

Working Pattern

Working 12 hours per week covering weekend evenings – 18:00 to 00:00 Saturday and Sunday.

You will also be required to work a share of bank holidays which can include Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Salary

£7.25 per hour + regional allowance (pro rata for length of contract).
